NASA Transition Modeling Workshop 2017
NASA organized a Transition Modeling Workshop on September 13-14, 2017, which was held in the
Thimble Shoal Auditorium at the Lockheed Martin Center for Innovation ("The Lighthouse") at 8000
Harbour View Boulevard in Suffolk, VA 23435.
The purpose of the workshop was to help assess the
challenges associated with the modeling of boundary-layer transition as related to the objectives of
CFD Vision 2030 and to formulate a long term research plan to overcome those challenges. The workshop
included invited presentations by experts and stakeholders from government, industry, and academia,
and concluded with an open forum discussion that was facilitated by Prof. Eli Reshotko and
Dr. Phillipe Spalart. An agenda for the workshop is available below.
