This workshop, focused on exploring high-fidelity CFD methodologies, is made up of 5 different test suites. Note: a preparatory High Fidelity CFD Pre-Workshop Special Session was held at AIAA SciTech 2021. This workshop is a continuation of a previous series known as "International Workshop on High Order CFD Methods", or "HiOCFD". See, for example: HiOCFD5 and HiOCFD4.

Test suite presentation format:

• Test suite lead will introduce the test case(s)
• Individual participant presentations (~10 minutes each)
  • Intent is to communicate approach and conclusions, NOT to present results (test suite lead will present results)

  • Virtual participants: please provide your presentation charts and optionally pre-recorded presentation (as backup in-case of technical difficulty) by THURSDAY 6 JANUARY 2022
• Test suite lead will present collected results from all participants

Please be sure to contact the individual test-suite leads to coordinate individual presentations and for any test-suite-specific guidance on individual presentations.

Mission:

• Providing an open and impartial forum for evaluating the status of CFD methods in solving a wide range of flow problems;
• Assessing the performance of CFD methods through comparison to production CFD codes widely used in the aerospace industry with well-defined metrics;
• Supporting new research in the field of high order CFD methods by providing validation cases and aid during development and improvement of codes;
• Establish best practices for large scale simulations

Vision:

• Identifying pacing items in Solver Technology, LES, and High-Order methods and peripheral tools that need additional research and development in order to proliferate in the CFD community;
• Facilitating international collaboration and enhance mutual understanding among CFD researchers and managers in academia, government, and industries

Registration for the HFCFD workshop is handled through AIAA's SciTech 2022 registration processes and requires a fee that is independent from conference attendance. You may register as a virtual attendee or as an in-person attendee. Conference attendance is not required to register for the workshop.
