2D Zero Pressure Gradient Flat Plate Validation Case

K-kL-MEAH2015m Model Results

Link to K-kL-MEAH2015m equations

K-kL-MEAH2015m - cf vs Retheta K-kL-MEAH2015m - u+ vs y+ at Retheta=10000

Previously on this page the results were reported as k-kL-MEAH2015 solutions, but more properly they should be referred to as k-kL-MEAH2015m. Essentially no difference is expected.

Above K-kL-MEAH2015m results are from CFL3D on the 545x385 grid; FUN3D results on same grid are almost identical. Both CFL3D and FUN3D used freestream turbulence intensity=0.039% and freestream turbulent viscosity (relative to laminar)=0.009. Please read note 5 on Notes on running CFD page. The right-hand plot is extracted from the location where Retheta=10000. Note that these are compressible code results at "essentially incompressible" conditions of M=0.2. There may be a very small influence of compressibility. The CFD postprocessed data files are given here for reference: kkl-cf_cfl3d.dat and kkl-upyp_cfl3d.dat. A typical FUN3D input file is: fun3d.nml_typical_kkl_2.
